Document Scanner
Scan documents with your camera, clean them up, and export to JPG, PNG or PDF. Everything stays on your device.
How to scan a document
- Capture the page. Tap "Start camera," allow camera access, frame the document, and capture it.
- Let it auto-correct. The scanner detects the page boundary and flattens it with perspective correction automatically.
- Fine-tune. Use Deskew, Crop, Rotate, filters and brightness/contrast if you need to adjust it manually.
- Export. Save all pages to PDF, or single pages to JPG or PNG.
What happens to your scan
Capture, edge detection, perspective deskew and export all run on your device using pure-canvas image processing — a homography and triangle-subdivision warp, with no server-side processing. Your photos and scans are never uploaded to OpenToolkit.
What this scanner supports
Common reasons to use this scanner
- Scan a receipt or ID with your phone instead of a flatbed scanner.
- Digitize a multi-page contract into one clean PDF.
- Straighten and clean up a photo taken at an angle.
- Turn a stack of paper documents into clean images without installing an app.
Frequently asked questions
Are my scans uploaded anywhere?
No. Camera capture and all image processing happen entirely on your device.
Why won't the camera start?
Camera access needs a secure page (HTTPS) or localhost, plus your browser's permission — check that you allowed camera access when prompted.
What if edge detection gets it wrong?
Use "Detect edges" to retry, or switch to Deskew/Crop/Rotate to adjust the boundary manually.
Does it work on any surface?
Edge detection works best when the paper contrasts clearly with the surface behind it.
Can I scan multiple pages into one file?
Yes — capture as many pages as you need, then export them together as one multi-page PDF.
What if I don't have camera access?
You can upload an existing photo file instead of using live camera capture.
