How to generate a strong password
- Choose a length. Pick anywhere from 8 to 128 characters.
- Pick character sets. Enable or disable uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.
- Generate and copy. Regenerate until you're happy with it, then copy the password.
What happens to your password
Passwords are generated using your browser's Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) — a cryptographically secure random source, not the weaker Math.random(). Nothing is transmitted to or stored by OpenToolkit.

Frequently asked questions
Does OpenToolkit store my generated password?
No. Nothing is saved anywhere — store important passwords in a trusted password manager instead.
Is this more secure than Math.random()?
Yes — it uses the Web Crypto API's getRandomValues, the cryptographically secure randomness source browsers provide, rather than the predictable Math.random().
What if I disable every character set?
Keep at least one enabled — with none selected, there are no characters left to draw from.
How long should my password be?
Longer is stronger. 16 or more characters with every character set enabled resists brute-force guessing far better than a short password, even one with symbols.
Can I use a custom character set?
Not currently — you can only toggle the four built-in sets, not supply your own characters.
Is the password kept if I leave the page?
No — refreshing or navigating away clears it, since nothing is persisted.
