UUID Generator

Generate cryptographically-random version-4 UUIDs in bulk, in your browser.

How to generate UUIDs

  1. Set the count. Choose how many UUIDs you need, up to 1,000.
  2. Set the format. Toggle uppercase and hyphens as needed.
  3. Generate and copy. Click "Regenerate," then "Copy all."

What happens to your data

This UUID generator creates identifiers with the browser's secure crypto.randomUUID() API, entirely on your device — nothing is sent to a server, so the values are private and it keeps working offline.

A UUID (also called a GUID) is a 128-bit identifier. This tool produces version-4 UUIDs, which are fully random, and lets you copy a whole batch at once for seeding databases, tests or config files.

Common reasons to generate UUIDs

  • Seed test data with a batch of unique identifiers.
  • Generate a primary key or request ID during development.
  • Create unique filenames or tokens without writing a script.
  • Quickly grab one UUID to paste into a config file or ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Is this data uploaded anywhere?

No. UUIDs are generated and displayed entirely in your browser.

Are these cryptographically random?

Yes — generated with crypto.randomUUID(), which relies on the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator.

Can I generate more than 1,000 at once?

Not in one batch — 1,000 is the current limit per generation; run it again for more.

Could two UUIDs collide?

Practically no — version-4 UUIDs have enough randomness that collisions aren't a realistic concern, even across many batches.

Can I remove the hyphens or change the case?

Yes — toggle uppercase and no-hyphen formatting independently.

Is a UUID the same as a GUID?

Yes — GUID (globally unique identifier) is Microsoft's name for the same 128-bit standard. The values this generator produces are valid as both UUIDs and GUIDs.

What version are these UUIDs?

Version 4, which is fully random. Unlike version 1, a v4 UUID contains no timestamp or MAC address, so it leaks no information and does not sort chronologically.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Because generation uses your browser's built-in crypto API, the tool keeps working after the page has loaded even without a connection.
